8:10 a.m. IP Evolution

Rick Overman, Topic Moderator

The future of telecommunications will require telecom service providers to evolve from a voice centric, TDM based, narrowband infrastructure to a data centric, IP-packet based, broadband network. This session will explore the state of the industry of the various elements of IP Next Generation Networks including multi-Gigabit Ethernet Transport, IP/Ethernet Access Platforms (both wireline and wireless), Next Generation IP Switching, and the potential of an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) to converge all of the networks, devices and applications for an enhanced customer service experience.
